The Coleman Center provides access to resources, knowledge, and people. Within its offices, a library is available for clients, including books, software, and reference guides. The Center also connects entrepreneurs with people and organizations that can further help grow their businesses.
The Coleman Center is a place for information, expertise, trends, and how-to advice. The Center’s qualified staff is experienced working with entrepreneurs and business owners, and is aware of the dynamic state of entrepreneurship, in Chicago and nationwide. The Coleman Center also creates mechanisms through which entrepreneurs share knowledge, experiences, and advice with one another. This peer-to-peer approach creates an exchange of the most practical and relevant information, complementing the Center’s consulting services and DePaul’s academic program.
Recognizing that capital is the most commonly sought-after resource for entrepreneurs, the Coleman Center creates forums, programs, and linkages to help entrepreneurs with this challenge. With its business plan competition, Angel Academy, and financial programs, the Center gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn how to raise capital from the right sources.
Leveraging its association with DePaul alumni, faculty, staff, and local professionals, the Center provides referrals to specialized experts. From advertising agencies and banks, to sales consultants and technology professionals, a qualified network helps entrepreneurs in specific functional areas requiring proficiency, skill, and experience. These connections are made by request from entrepreneurs, or as suggested by Coleman Center staff.
